THE NALLS AKA DONZELL REVIEWS: Spider-Man: Far From Home
Hey, everyone. Spider-Man: Far From Home is a superhero film directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jake Gyllenhaal. Peter Parker and his friends go on a European summer vacation. However, trouble follows him and Spider-Man has to team with Nick Fury and Mysterio to defeat the Elementals. I had a great time =).
Far From Home is another solid entry into the MCU. Holland once again does a great job as the titular character. He is able to convey Peter’s naivety, awkwardness, and pain following Avengers: Endgame. Gyllenhaal is a fantastic actor and brings great charisma to Mysterio. The action scenes were fun, especially the finale. The humor made me chuckle and laugh, but not as the sacrifice of telling the story. The relationship between Spider-Man and Mysterio is the strongest part of the film, and it pays off well.
There isn’t much I disliked about this movie. There is a heavy exposition scene that I found excessive. The first act of the movie was okay, but builds to a much stronger conclusion. It wasn’t weak, but I was mildly enjoying my experience at this point. Once the film fully reveals its plot, it became a much greater product.
Overall, I enjoyed Far From Home. I feel its a strong addition to the MCU and my third favorite Spider-Man film. Holland and Gyllenhaal are great in their roles. The relationship between Spider-Man and Mysterio establishes a satisfying conclusion. The movie was a bit ho-hum at first, but steps up a lot. I had a great time and I recommend it.Jul 06 , 2019
